Pull Out the Rocker
I think that I may like to learn how to crochet. Crocheting and knitting have always seemed to have 'old lady' connotations, but it seems like younger people are getting into it and creating fabulous things. On etsy I always seem to find things like headbands, hats, and even jewelry as well as mod scarves and gloves that inspire me to try my hand at it. Digi-scrapping is my creative outlet, mostly, but there are time that I just want to create hands-on, know what I mean? Any ideas on how to get started with this potential hobby? Or, reversely, let me know if me + sharp objects = disaster.

Crocheting is fun (however, all I can do is a chain stich (for miles and miles) and a double crochet). You can usually find books to teach yourself and sometimes they come with beginning needles and yarn packs. I know nothing about knitting, so I can't help ya there. Let me know how it goes. :)
